The girl on the train by Paula Hawkins (book review)
๐- The girl on the train by Paula Hawkins
Genre- mystery, psychological fiction
๐ The story was well narrated but started building upto the plot only after 100 pages. Revolving around the life of 3 characters, this gave us the life of Rachael who is an alcoholic, unemployed, unreliable, divorced person. She pretends to have a pseudo job infront of her flatmate and continues to travel in daily commuter train. Everyday she sees a perfect couple, naming them Jess and Jason and reminisces about the perfect life that she lost. Until one day she sees Jess(Meghan) kissing a stranger on the rooftop.
๐ The next day Meghan's disappearance on the tabloid made her feel responsible to share that incident to the police and especially to Scott(Jason). Being an unreliable source and unable to remember what happened with her that night, she began her own investigation.
Pretending to be a friend of Meghan's they suspect her therapist to be the culprit.
๐The story finally builds up the suspense and makes her more than just a girl on the train. This was really an interesting read.
