📌This was my second read by John Green. The story is narrated by Aza Holmes who lives in Indianapolis, America and is an OCD sufferer.
She intentionally opens up a crack in her finger to see if she is real. Her job is to seal it with bandage every single time, making her wonder whether she is already infected or not. Throughout the story she tries to get rid of her anxiety and feel normal like others. Daisy, her bestfriend on the other hand writes a fan fiction and has a motto in her life ' break hearts, not promises.'
She and Daisy decides to investigate the sudden disappearance of a billionaire, Russell Pickett. The reward of this search could be of great help to enroll themselves in college. Aza knew his sons Davis and Noah who disclosed to them about all the property being given to a tuatara- a rare species of reptile, native in New Zealand. Davis was always fond of Aza and soon it grew into a relationship. It was sweet. Though it couldn't continue because of Aza's thoughts that kissing him would lead her having C.diff and thereby death. She tried to resist her thoughts everytime but they always presumed to have more power over her.
The story goes on how Aza lands up in the hospital and eventually figures out the disappearance of Rusell Pickett.
